My freshman year in college, I began volunteering (and later working) at an animal shelter in my home town. I stayed there for about three years and loved every minute of it!
Recently, one of the ladies who worked with the cats decided to retire. I thought it would be fitting to give her a card showcasing her favorite four-legged critters.
The stamps come from two Simon Says Stamp! stamp sets and the chipboard letters came from Kelly Purkey.
I used a Martha Stewarts Circle Cutter to cut the frame around the cats. When using this with 6″ x 6″ papers, I recommend using some adhesive under the paper to keep it secure on your work surface. The smaller papers are harder to keep a hand on underneath the circle cutter since it’s so large.
The cats were first stamped in some StazOn Jet Black ink then colored them in using some water color pencils. I’ve found that StazOn works really well when using water colors and doesn’t smudge. Keep in mind it will stain your stamps (while it won’t effect your stamps, it does make them look a bit dirty).
Overall, a pretty simple card but very bright!
